If you are looking for vegan labels, you have come to the right place!
Here at Shropshire Printing, we understand that our customers have different requirements, even down to the materials and adhesives used.
Increased awareness about animal cruelty and environmental benefits is driving the trend for veganism and vegan products. Looking forward, 92% of retailers expect sales in responsible and sustainable products to increase in the next five years.
Shropshire Printing is now pleased to offer a range of Certified Vegan labels. There is no compromise on colour, even on textured papers and there are different adhesives available for different textured papers.
Plant based labels are a popular choice for businesses including cosmetic and food companies, our labels are certified by Expertise Vegan Europe (EVE Vegan), who are an international control and labelling body dedicated to vegan products, services, and vegan farming.
The vegan certification of these labels can help strengthen your brand’s eco-friendly commitments and is proof of:
- No animal origin
- No animal testing
- No animal GMO (Genetically modified organism)
- Vegan inks and foils are also available
What Makes Labels ‘Non-Vegan’?
Being vegan means you avoid products containing or using meat or animal by-products including honey or bee products (beeswax, propolis, royal jelly), insects, or bone char.
Sometimes there are animal by-products where you would least expect them. The glue used on labels was traditionally made using bone parts or casein (milk protein). Another consideration is the ink used on labels. Inks sometimes contain animal bone char, glycerin from animal fat, gelatin from hooves, or shellac from beetles.
It’s also worth bearing in mind the machinery used in the production of the labels. Typically printing equipment is very expensive and will be used for both traditional and vegan labelling.
