Saddle stitched books are bound with staples, folded to size & then trimmed for a neat final product.
Saddle stitch books come in pages of 4 multiples, from 8pp to 56pp (inc. cover) and can have a ‘self cover’ (which means using the same paper thickness as the inner pages) or a thicker cover (recommended on larger books).
For larger brochures, it is quite common for the cover to be printed on heavier stock and the inner text pages to be printed on the lower weight.

Lamination options:
Matt Lamination – often results in a lower contrast on darker colours, producing a softer look for your brochures or booklets. Matt Lamination doesn’t reflect the light as much as unlaminated or gloss laminated papers and therefore works really well for covers with block colours & text. Will also protect printed brochures from scratches and scuffs. Available on 250gsm+ cover weights
Gloss Lamination – A shiny finish that reflects the light to make colours and pictures zing. Also provides protection to the brochure cover against dirt or fingerprints. Available on 250gsm+ cover weights.
Soft Touch Lamination – A velvety finish for print that exudes quality. It gives an instantaneous high-end feel to any printed material, which is why it’s perfect for showcasing your business. Available on 250gsm+ cover weights.
Finishing options:
Spot UV – Spot UV varnish adds a highlight with a reflective gloss finish over a particular area. This is typically a logo or coloured pictures but can also be used to create a subtle background pattern. Helps produce a high impact finish for your brochure. Available with Matt & Soft Touch Lamination only.
Foiling – Foil printing is used to create a memorable and high-quality finish and is popular for premium businesses’ print. Available with Matt & Soft Touch Lamination only.
